Michael Borelli, the CEO and creator of True Craftsman, has “been in the business” since childhood. His passion ignited at the age of eight while working in his mom's basement with basic tools—a rusty handsaw, a Sanka coffee can filled with assorted screws and nails, and a hammer, along with a pile of wood. Despite starting modestly, Michael's craftsmanship and carpentry expertise quickly surpassed his peers. Beyond his skills, building became Michael's passion and source of pride, evident in his meticulous attention to detail and dedication to delivering top-notch construction quality.
After Michael’s five-year apprenticeship with Local Union 157, Manhattan’s only United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, he earned the title of Master Carpenter. During his tenure with the Union, he rose to become a Superintendent working on projects, including floors 60-71 of Tower 1, taking the spaces from bare metal beams to fully finished turn-key offices. He did the same on multiple floors in Tower 4, 1 Vanderbilt Avenue, and 55 Water Street, which happens to have the largest square footage, width-wise, of any building in the city!
Michael embodies a blend of traditional craftsmanship and the rapid pace of New York City; alongside his team of elite builders, they are committed to delivering projects on time, at competitive rates, with a guarantee of quality.
At True Craftsman, we value the importance of personal living and work environments, striving to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients. For Michael, it's not merely about construction; it's about presenting a product that mirrors the attention and commitment invested in each project.
